How do you remove scratches from your metal slide?
Guys, I have some small scratches on my metal slide that I want to remove. Is there any good techique for this? I was thinking of buying metal polish from my local hardware store.

If it's just a scratch, you wouldn't want to go to extremes and paint over the entire slide, if it was bare, ano'd or phosphated or whatever paint would not be an option.

if it's on polished metal slide you can do it with sandpaper then repolish...

Guys, my slide is shooters design shpd 2 tone. The scratches are on the aluminium parts, But dont get me wrong, what I mean by scratches is not the "scratchy" style of the alumunium but its more like chips (resulting from putting the slide on a dusty and dirty table). The scratches are not deep and they are not even visible when you reflect sunshine through your slide. it is just really bother me to see those small chips and scratches.

I get those all the time, I use a retardedly high-grit sandpaper. Have any 3000 and some polishing compound sitting about?

would using higher grit remove the "scratchy looks" ?? I dont want that to dissapear.

yes, brushed finish. Thats what im trying to say. So are you recommending 2000 grit or higher?

Fine sanding a brushed finish will give it a shiny/polished look.
