Ideas to keep motor's (black) cable from slipping out of tab when putting grip back on.
Hey ASC
When i pull the trigger( without the pistol grip plate on) the motor goes wizzzzzzzz when i put the pistol grip's end plate on then pull the trigger, the trigger goes back and it goes *click* Is it the negative connector? It's a VFC 416 and i need some idea to keep the (negative cable , black) from un attaching itself when i assemble the grips butt plate. - I do have the butt plate height adjustment down a bit to keep the motor from popping up and disconnecting the black cable, - the red cable pops in nice and snug, the black one is pushed up at the edge of the pistol grip, how to keep that black tab down? ....like a bad shot of tequilaO: Thanks you!

So you could spin the motor before you put it in the grip?

Pinch the connector with a pair of pliers. Just a little bit, like a little little bit. Closer to the wire than to the tip of the connector.
Assuming that is the problem anyway. What brought this problem on? Changing the motor? |

If the motor Just clicks when the grip is on, Try backing the tension off a bit.

Do what evan said if the motor connector really is coming off.
If you take the grip plate off, and the connector is still on the motor, the problem is the motor height, you need to back off that screw in the middle of the end plate |

If the motor still clicks when you pull the trigger it means the connector is fine

Okay, so as it is after a spring change the stock motor got burnt out.
when the plate is off it gives a nice spinny sound, so i put the plate back on and clickly sound... so i eased off the height adjustment every full turn i pulled the trigger...*click* till the hex nut fell out... then went the other way full turn till, i thought was max, every full turn i pull the trigger..*click*... oh and the tamiya connectors (11.1v lipo) pinching them with my fingers after 6 seconds they get HOT!, is that normal.. ...im screwed aren't i?

you have to get the right height for it to work properly.
Did you mess with the shimming when the spring was changed? Is the polarity backwards? Did you run both motor wires to the back of the grip or one on each side? |

I guess ill try right now to do quarter turns and pull the trigger from the furthest position away and work my way down...
The gears are self shimming in this VFC model The new lonex motor is color labeled, red is to red.. the cables seem to stem from one side of the pistol grip

self shimming is a load of crap
if you go too slowly, you may end up stripping the pinion gear though. bring it up until you feel the resistance increase, that will be the upper limit. Then back it off half a turn and tune from there |

You put your mechbox back wrong.
My bet is your piston is out of the rails. |
