Having trouble decided on appropriate starting gear for a g36 user.
Greetings reader! Excuse the mistake in the title please. I have recently acquired an AEG g36 and I'm in need of your undoubtedly sage advice. You see, I need 5 more magazines and somewhere to keep them on my body as well as a place to discard them.
In a perfect world I would use my 5 newly acquired magazines in combination with the one I already own and create from this collection of 6, 3 double stacked magazines which I could then store individually in pouches. which I could then store on a vest. So what I'm asking for is : 1. What magazines should I buy ( I'm looking for mid caps ) 2. What pouches should I buy to hold double stacked g36 mags? 3. What vest should I buy to hold these pouches 4. Where can one find all 3 of these elements from one seller? This is perhaps the thing I am having the greatest difficulty with, finding a seller for all 3. Edit : Added #4 I am on a relatively low budget ( ~100 dollars ) but I'm ok with buying these things in pieces. Thank you in advance for any advice Last edited by DietCoke=; November 20th, 2012 at 20:43.. |

1. Something like MAG brand midcaps would work well.
2. You would need to get triple deep M4 pouches, or pouches specifically made to fit 2x G36 mags. 3. A good MOLLE covered vest. Don't buy a crappy one with holster and random pouches that you can't change. Buy a modular vest and moldular pouches and you can set it up how you want. Buy a good brand like FLYYE or Pantac and it will last forever. The vest will could cost you $80-$100 alone, so you better raise your budget. You probably also want a dump pouch of some sort. |

Where would you suggest acquiring such thing? I've scoured the internet but I am having a lot of trouble finding a place which holds the combination of magazines pouches and vest that I desire. It always seems like one element of the trifecta is missing.

If I was being a dick I'd just come in here and flame him and not give him any advice. Mags are going to be tough, you're going to have to buy them in country as G36 mags have fake bullets in them and won't pass through customs. Airsoftparts.ca Is a great place for mags and parts in country. As for a vest, there are many types of molle vests. Tac vest, chest rig, Ciras, Plate carriers. Find one that you like, stay away from Condor brand as it isnt known to be of the best quality Last edited by R.I.T.Z; November 20th, 2012 at 20:53.. |

I have already googled that extensively R.I.T.Z. Unfortunately the fact that I do not know exactly what I'm looking in terms of vests and pouches renders the evaluation of the data given to me by google more difficult.

Styrak thank you very much, I'm afraid I've already made a cart at ehobbyasia which totalled with shipping to about 360$. I was asking more to see if there were somewhere within canada that I could support which could provide me with the benefits ehobbyasia does.

If you're ordering a bunch of stuff like that, it usually pays to shop at a place like EhobbyAsia, as they are one of if not THE largest online airsoft retailer.

You're best bet would be to get age verified and go into the "age restricted" portion of the forum as there are a few websites in there. |

I have broken a bunch of tabs on my g36 mags and stopped clipping them together...they all broke with 1 mag in the gun and the other fell to the ground with a broken tab. I have given up on those and bought a mag well conversion by battleaxe. It allows you to run regular m4 mags, although it doesn't look as nice. This also opens up your options as far as pouches go because every gear manufacturer makes multiple styles of pouches for those mags

Check out Airsoftdepot.ca he has a pretty good selection of gear and parts.

Gettingshot, do you think that is an inherent design issue or more of an issue regarding the quality of the magazine you bought?

I've heard it is common, but didn't know about it until after I bought the mags. I'm sure wrapping some tape around the mags when they are connected would help prevent this but I gave up and went the m4 mag route because the look didn't bother me and the endless options for storage was appealing
