WE KAC PDW Open Bolt Inner Barrel

Does anyone know if the inner barrel of the WE KAC PDW OB is modeled after an AEG inner barrel?

Can I just drop in a AEG inner barrel with no modification? Or does it need a proprietary inner barrel?

I'm looking to replace the inner barrel with a shorter one.

if it is anything like the we scar, it cannot use aeg barrels as the nozzle wont line up properly, so you need to get the ra tech ones, (not sure if another company makes them other than a we brass one) ra techs are double cut so it can work on the pdw and aegs.

Angry Gun also makes a full line of inner barrels for WE GBBR.

AngryGun, Falcon, RA-TECH, PDi Raven. They all make barrels for the OB system. I'd try the AngryGun or PDi Raven of the desired length.

Thanks guys...

When I looked at pictures the two barrels looked very similar... what is the major difference between the two?

You mean the Pdi and AngryGun? They are nothing alike O.o one has the black coating, so even from a merely aesthetical point of view they are different.

PDi

AngryGun

One is 6.03, the other 6.01, both are steel, but a very different kind. They both have different tolerances. I haven't tried them, but I've tried RA-TECH and Falcon inners with decent results (since these brands won't make a 460 inner which is the size I use). But these look like they're better built than either RA-TECH or Falcon. Just guessing here, but the AngryGun's probably better.

here's the thing I don't understand. How can there be two different cuts for the same gun??

Falcon
vs
Angry Gun

One looks like a Pistol inner barrel and one looks like an AEG inner barrel, but just with extra notches cut.

same cut, the falcon just kept the bridge behind the hop notch, probably for improved air seal

just want to cut and crown the inner barrel for now.

Possibly the outer barrel as well, but we'll see about that.

trying to make this happen (see pic).

I can remove the outer barrel and the "gas block" and move the whole front end against the rails, but the inner barrel protrudes past the strike face. So I want to chop some of it off.

As well, I need to find a way to secure the top rail of the strike kit to the top rail of the PDW... without using zip ties.

So you want me to take a fully restored hot rod, and put a spoiler on the roof?
