Recommendations on Battery placement
So, I've gamed a couple of times now and love the sport, but I absolutely despise my AN/PEQ battery box. I've done a fair amount of research and have found seven ways of storing batteries for an Armalite Style AEG
1) In Forestock 2) An/Peq battery box (i.e. rail mounted box) 3) Redi-mag battery box conversion 4) Eotech replica battery storage (Sorry, Redwolf is giving me issues ATM) 5) buffer tube 6) rear stock 7) External/battery bag I want to change the weight distribution to be a bit more balanced, so am rejecting the forestock, AN/PEQ, Redi-mag. I already have a full Aimpoint setup. I have a pretty specific stock in mind that I want to get, and don't think that external batteries are going to be a great idea (at least for a noob that might be getting hung up on things). So... I'm thinking buffer tube. Are there any other options that I've missed? If I go buffer tube, I've only found reference to 11.1v LiPo 3 cell stick style fitting, is there any other battery options that I just haven't been able to find? Oborous |

Well...it'd depend on what specific stock you're looking at. Some "non-typical" ones actually allow for custom batteries.
The Madbull ACE stock can fit a battery in it's tube/butt plate. http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1075 But if you're going for one of the CTR style stocks...lipo stick is your friend. |

If you really want it in the buffer tube I think LiPo is the only option. The seven you have are the only ones I've seen for armalites.

I'm going to do a full review on the Eotech battery box shortly.
My opinon: if you already have good optics you don't want to give them up, I'd rule out the fake Eotech battery box. The optics aren't that great. Go for the stock tube solution. |

The only 2 options that leaves you are a li-po in the stock or in the foregip. My suggestion is stay away from the lipo and put it in your forend. With the extra weight of the duostock you'll never notice the batt in the front.

LiPo in the hand guard is one of the most effective battery solutions if you're comfortable with using LiPo batteries. They are tiny and have similar/better performance than large batteries.

Venom's 2-3 cells charger.
Runs for about 25$-35$ on ebay. Auto balancer. Or there is one made by GreatPlane (ak Electrifly). Best around is Hyperion's chargers. Usually run around 100-200$ and need an external 12v DC power source. |

If you run an upgraded gun I would do some more research on this method. Those Firefox 11.1v 1200mah (think they're 1200mah at least) only have something like a 10 or 15 amp discharge rate which isn't going to give you the max performance out of your gun (for comparison, a good Ni-Mh battery pack does 30+ amps).
