jg g36c
So, just to make things clear,
The JG G36C has a version 3 gearbox with metal gears and steel bushings right? or are the bushings plastic? Or does Echo1 make the version with metal bushings? thanks for the clarifications |

If you're looking for the ones with the metal bushings the 3rd version of the either JG or Echo1 G36 have them, version 2 are plastic.

I wouldnt count on what the release notes of JG items state, my JG HK416 was supposed to have metal bushings. Sure enough, it didnt.

How are JG's in general?
I saw they released a FAMAS and had a hard time deciding between it and the Matui... I went for Marui's reliability eventually... |

The terms you guys are using are confusing. The JG G36 definitely use the version 3 mechbox, not the version 2 mechbox. Earlier produced JG mechboxes are said to feature plastic bushings, while later ones feature metal bushings. Whether a mechbox has plastic or metal bushings is not dependent on the version # of the mechbox, rather it depends on who put the mechbox together. If a gun comes with metal bushings already installed, that fact is usually clearly advertised.

We're not confusing, the people who decided to use a version # to describe whether it had metal bushings or not are. "ECHO 1 G36C Ver. 3 (Now with Metal Bushings)". Although it is confusing, this version # is completely irrelevant to the mechbox version.

This is not an uncommon experience. These clones are designed for new players who may not be experienced in the workings of a gearbox. They will not be able to tell the difference between a gun with metal or plastic bushings, as they do not know how to open up the gun to determine the truth, and will simply take the retailer/manufacturer at their word.
For example: A friend of mine opened his Echo 1 gun up a few months ago and discovered a UTG gearbox, something which we are all still puzzling over. It simply goes to show that you get what you pay for when it comes to clones, and that the lower costs of these chinese guns come at the price of uncertianty. As for the FAMAS, I have heard nothing about a Jing Gong version, what you might be thinking of is the Jin Peng.

my echo 1 came with a plastic one and mechbox had CA gears, piston head had the 6 or 8 holes (I can't remember) for great oring spreading for nice pistion compression. Spent some time cleaning the yellow gunk they call lube from the gears and barrel.
