steel vs aluminum slides
I stumbled across this when I was searching for parts to pimp out my p226 with.
http://www.uncompany.com/pageproduct...sp?prodid=6620 What's the difference between steel slides and aluminum slides? Only difference I can think of is weight. I don't suppose anyone has ever heard of a steel frame as well? Zi-Xiao

Aluminum: Softer material scratching is a bit easier, lightweight for softer slide return.
Steel: More realistic weight, harder recoil, if scratched possibility for surface corrosion. Pretty much requires Propane for proper function. Honestly, I have both and the only problem I have had is my aluminum one had a machine thread that almost stripped on me.

Steel slide recoil is pretty depressing... Propane just isn't strong enough to accelerate the slide rearwards fast enough. Aluminum slides will almost always end up kicking harder and faster.

Would the ideal be a steel frame and aluminum slide? Just because having two of the same alloy/metal constantly scratching each other = bad?
