Well istead of buying anything expensive I just wrapped most of my gun in thick green cloth muffling the electronic sound of my gun.

Switch your motor over to an EG700, it'll have less whine and actually might increase your rate of fire a bit (did in my MP5).

gearbox and motor whine are not as audible as the thwack of the piston on the cylinder head. sorbo pads work wonders!
stalker is correct on the eg700 |

motor whine wise: Well shimmed High torque gears. Preferably Helical gears. Weaker spring. High torque motor.
piston impact wise: Sorbo pad, silencer of any kind. |

Most cheap silencers with light weight foam do jack about the sound. Get something like the Madbull Gemtech licensed products. |

Nonetheless I always take out the fibres one by one and burn away the annoying extra weaves, works well. But you are right, these kinds do help lessen the audible piston smack compared to the regular foam kind. |

With silencers, take an old AEG spring, stretch it to the proper length and twist it into the silencer to hold all the foam out of the way.
To make things quieter; Bearing bushings Helical Gears Perfect shim job Proper viscosity greases on the gears, cylinder and mechbox Polished interior mechbox (friction makes noise) Light weight piston (TM is good) ARS Sorbothane piston head ARS Sorbothane cylinder head TM EG700 with proper tuned motor height Trigger Master MKIII with Active Breaking and Soft Start High-er voltage battery to reduce motor spin time Silencer /w fibrous foam Depending on the gun you may be able to add extra material to the outside of the mechbox but still inside the gun, I'd suggest open cell foam, cotton or something similar to that. |

Amos-thanks for the spring in the can idea. New one on me. Thanks again.
