From what I can gather, bullpups seem very rare to come across and when you do, there is very little to upgrade it with. So overall ill probably end up rolling with an m4/m16 or an AK-74/47

It depends what you mean by upgrades, a bullpup will respond to the normal internal tweaks and upgrades.

Farkles like new grips or rail covers are less called for since they're not as rail festooned as some other aegs etc.

Still if you look around here you'll see plenty of transformed P90s and the like.

on the issue of bullpups,

for reloading I really noticed no difference, it came as naturally as reloading an m4 I didn't even think of it until now.
really for me it's no different than reloading an M4 except you bring the mag closer your your armpit that's all. lol and no one can play the "but my huge chest and bicep muscles get in teh way and it's harder to reach places like my armpit" card lol it's really not that hard

maybe some of you need to start stretching in the morning? lol

Ahem.

My beef with Bullpups also stems from reloading.

With an AR platform, your magazine is protruding from your gun, away from the gear on your chest. Whether it be a chest rig, your clothes, sling, headphones, bling-necklace, or 8-bit radio... It's out of the way.

Bullpups, I've found, tend to be right up close and like to snuggle with my wires, and eat my jacket every time I go to reload.

I'm not a sloppy guy, I keep my gear together, but I find bullpups (my experience was with a TAVOR) just like to snack on your gear while they are hungry for magazines and won't let the ammo train come into the station. The only way I'd find to remedy this, is to put my barrel into the air to expose the magazine well, LOOK DOWN at it, then ram the magazine home. I realize that with practice I would get it... but I still have to take my barrel off of target.

That being said, they have obvious advantages such as keeping the weight closer to your body, and maintaining a smaller profile with a longer barrel... and these are nice things... but I find I just love the AR series.

AK's are nice too, but in airsoft, their mags size is ridiculous.

When you say ridiculous, do you mean extremely big or small ?

Personally I love bullpups, they look amazing, feel very nice to hold/use, are a better suited option because of my small stature (5'6). Now I prefer bullups over any non bullpup gun although I do still like non bullpups like Scars, SOME M4s, G36 series, MP5, etc. HOWEVER I hate the M16 more then any gun ever created. I have used one and it was way to long for my to use haha, but that's just me

Not true. AUG's and P90's have many upgrades available (both internal and external). Hell, an AUG is a fairly standard V3 mechbox.

Is there a proper word for the "regular" magazine position style?

Nope, usualy I simply call that "standard" or "traditionnal".

Also One thing I forgot : bulpup are, usually, easier to handle because more balanced. I say Usually because L85 are really, really crappy at that point both in airsoft and RS...

But anyone who has tried/wielded an A-91 or a Groza and AK47/74 with grenade launcher know what I mean.

Noes, I make jokes about obscure hypothesis that online forum discussions naturally devolve into accusations of national socialist inclinations. Actually it doesn't sound half bad when you say it that bad (I must be a fascist then).

Right now I have my choice narrowed between a few guns, and in no particular order.

G36, AUG, AK47/74, M4, MP5

ok, well now it a matter of magazine from my personal experiance.

i love g36's in all ways except that it is a pain to find pouches that you can take g36 mags of of quickly and in any sort of a smooth fashion so if you plan on just using a hi-cap i recomend the g36

if you plan on using mid-caps then use something else.
