ok thanks... How difficult is it to rewire this to the stock... it would work with the retractable stock right?

Not sure how difficult it is, but you'll need to buy a Crane Stock to fit the battery into

yeah this all seems maybe a little too much to bite for my first AEG if I want R.I.S.... I should just consider this and avoid the hassle:

I just ran a peq 16 on mine, but I just sold my RIS front set to swap to a cqb barrel.

It's not hard to rewire it to the rear if you can handle a soldering iron, especially with the split mechbox, no spring pressure to worry about when you open it...

Yeah... I would have to research some tutorials to do that... but because I have zero experience I would be terrified of messing with anything inside... I am just trying to consider all my options... if not the ICS SIR then maybe just use a magpul handguard to replace the plastic foregrip on the ICS M4 IF, that is able to fit the batteries... So much to think about..

Hm I dunno bout you guys, but DBoys and other clone external parts seems to work on my ICS pretty damn good. I got a echo1 ris front set from another member and it installed it without any problems. My solid stock is also a DBoys one. Only thing that didnt match was a G&P dust cover but that doesnt seem to fit my friend's TM M4 either (too small!)

I know all about it man, I'm a complete newb to the insides as well but I researched it and it didn't look too bad. That being said i still wussed out and got a Magpul handguard. It'll hold a mini battery or lipo just fine.

ACCL- G&P dust covers just plain suck.. been there too.. some stocks are a little tight on the buffer tube but they still work. The only thing I had to mod was a sling plate (put it on backwards over the ICS plate.. looks odd but it works)

does the Magpul Handguard look good on your gun?? any pics?

One of my big reasons that I want RIS, SIR, or even magpul is that they have the option to attach accesories (magpul with rails)... I only really want a vertical grip though. :banghead:

I don't have it in hand yet, and yeah when I had an RIS on mine it was very front heavy because of all the stuff on there.

YouTube - My ICS M4 R.I.S

It will look like this if you install a R.I.S. with a Peq box. Not too bad. and you don't have to re-wire it to a crane stock.

Yep, I have seen this video a few times.. love the look of the gun. However, I dont know if its just cheaper to get the ICS M4 SIR and just not worry about it... or buy the regular ICS M4 then buy a $100 S.I.R plus a PEQ2 box... I think they may work out to the same, give or take a few dollars obviously.

YouTube - AirSplat ON DEMAND: ICS M4 RIS Sport Airsoft Electric AEG Gun Review Episode 26

I myself have a ICS M4 RIS Sport which has the cut-off carry handle rear sight and the RIS at the front. It also comes stock with the Crane style stock that houses the battery and the batteries for this type of gun ARE proprietary so keep that in mind.

Cheers,

How are ICS batteries proprietary? Or do you mean the crane style battery? I've used a half dozen different batteries on my ICS with no issues.
