Gold plating would be the way i would go and u can do it on virtually any material not sure how much build up there is on the plastics though or if you can mask off areas to avoid buildup

the best way to color an aluminum GBB part is to anodize or here in Japan we called it alumite processing.
painting will just make the piece of an aluminum thicker and it will peel off sooner or later. alumite is a process of applying color in the aluminum pores same principle of tattooing a human skin

So after searching around the conclusion is this
Bling Chrome and Shiny Gold and Stainless Steel - Are not attainable with home hardware tools or techniques. The only way to do it right is to gold or chrome plate it at a custom shop or anodize it. You can somehow try the paint and sand and polish technique but probably won't get the desired "Bling" Effect Unless you have a custom metal work shop in your house then by all means link up your business if not then you cannot achieve the effect on your own. On the other hand Silver Polish - Easily attainable with home hardware techniques just paint and sand and polish and continuously do it for a nice shiny Anyways I sure hope this puts to rest any other request on how to make things BLING. Cause the only 100% sure way is custom plating it. |

problem is most places won't anodize something that small, they want either a lot of small parts, or a few big ones.

Yeah that is true this would only be done if you were a buddy of a custom metal workshop or custom car decal painter can definitely do that
Unless someone knows anyone that can do it |

Another idea would be a Titanium nitride coating, it's an extremely hard ceramic material, often used as a coating on titanium alloy, steel, carbide, and aluminum components like drill bits to improve the substrate's surface properties, the coat is extremely resilient to scratches. The coating is applied by the more common physical vapor deposition (PVD) or chemical vapor deposition (CVD). I'm looking for a coating company to do this, try googling "Toronto PVD coating" or something, one of my friends did this to their Ipod covers, which ended up looking like this:

Hey steve, if you're still interested I found something that'll work.
http://www.humbrol.co.uk/paints/all-...8&resultspage= They have a variety of metallics, but this stuff is neat since it's meant to be buffed and burnished once it's applied. This stuff with get a mirror finish on a flat surface! |

Hmm...here I was thinking I could pimp my crapsoft Sig 552 into some chrome and gold monstrosity with Krylon paints. Guess I'll just have to turn it into some sort of pinksoft hello kitty Frankenstein creation...
Anyone know what krylon neon pink looks like? |

No!!!! Haha, pinksoft is.. ftw I guess. I especially like the lighter pink tape around the different areas. Adds a nice touch.
