I haven't had a chance to use anything other than Star mags, but I don't recall anything about Star M4s having trouble with other brands in the reviews I've read. I've actually had some feed issues with the Star mags, but that's due to the mags rather than the gun itself.

Based on specs and other information given on the product info I mean. |

As far as I know, they're basically the same gun. Ares is Star's former OEM, so all Star M4s were supposedly made by Ares.

I got a couple questions
when you said "Forward assist fit is good, almost no wobble", do you mean that it is pullable but does nothing? (cause I heard it did nothing at all) also when you said "the heat shields in the handguards are held in by melted plastic stubs, so attaching rails to them will require some minor mods", could you explain a little more please? I thought the star M4A1 could just easily have the heat shields removed and replaced with accessories what kind of particularities do the rails have? and sorry if these are noob/dumb questions |

However, if you wanted to mount one of those simplistic rail strips that just bolts to the ventilation holes on the handguard, you'll need to remove the heatshield inside the handguard first, because they block the holes.

It would be nice if the Forward assist pushed it a little farther, My hand guard also wobbles badly, but if I put a little force on it it goes at least 10Degress left and right

about the ares m4a1
is this an older version of the ares that youre talking about? because i was going to get one and now im considering to not getting it because according to your post it is hard to take apart, has bad wiring, not high end gears and the wires are soldered to the motor. i was looking to get a higher end gun with good internals.
thanks |
