I'd probably strip it down. Mainly because it's cleaner and you can get into the corners and whatnot. Also you don't have to worry about fucking up your internals if acetone gets into the gearbox and "melts" the plastic bits.

As for the acetone, this stuff will do the trick, you can find them at Canadian Tire: http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/image/CanadianTire/0475871_1?$medium$&defaultImage=image_na_EN

Also I've never heard acetone being used as a wart remover.... I would be scared of using it for that... (Salicylic Acid on the other hand I know is an effective wart remover).

Why do I get the feeling something bad is going to happen?

But seriously, maybe like $425-450, it is used and painted so that personally brings down the value for me. The paint and wear job on the crane stock actually looks decent but the paint job on the body is kind of meh. TM internals are nice and got decent upgrades in it. Plus inclusion of optics, accessories, and some mags is good too.

egads really? Even with a paintjob, I think 400 would be almost asking for an intro offer from serious buyers at 300 and you'd end up at 350 but that's me being generous. For 450 that's NEW gun price for a new G&P or VFC. m4 mags are cheap. For that kind of price difference, what's the incentive? TM label is not enough to entice anyone who knows the market well. Even at 300 a KA m4 would have me thinking really hard. 100$ more and you'd have essentially this is, but all new.

What's really TM left about it? the hopup and outer barrel? Everything else is KA and G&P.

I'm pretty sure using paint thinner will strip ALL the paint off your gun, and potentially ruin something.

That's what happens when you buy a painted gun, its never going to go back to the way it was...

You can buy new external parts or a new gun.

I'm putting a valuation on the accessories as well.

I know a PEQ battery box is cheap, like $15 or whatever but toss in the battery + battery box, flash light, vert grip, short rail section cover, ladder panels, and optic (which is probably an ACM optic). It could be like $425.

Gun lets say $250-275 (TM innards, some "upgrade" parts, plus it's got the G&P metal body)
Battery + battery box $30
Vert grip $10
Flash light+mount $50
Rail ladder + rail cover $10
Optic: $40
Mags x18 (Star mags are kind of shitty IMO): $40-45
