M120 Build...help please!

I'm looking to put my M4 between 420-450 fps, semi-only. I'm going for a lot of effective range.

Here's what I have so far:

-Stock gears (TM)
-ICS Turbo 3000 motor
-Modify S110 spring
-Modify spring guide, piston, piston head, cylinder, cylinder head, air seal nozzle
-Unknown inner barrel
-KA hopup with Guarder black rubber

Here's what I want:

-Guarder Infinite torque motor
-Modify S120 spring
-Prometheus inner barrel

Questions:

-Do I need a steel gear set? If so which one?
-Is there a hop rubber that would be more appropriate for the new setup?
-Would the TriggerMaster Mosfet be beneficial at all?

Trigger master is great. Won't ruin your switch assembly, and it is good for general health and consistency of the mechbox. I've had good experiences with guarder and systema hopup rubbers. I've heard good things about the Guarder Infinite torque and actually plan on buying one shortly for myself.

As for the gearset. The stock ones? What make is the AEG.

Sorry, gears are TM.

Oh, goodness. Upgrade them. I stripped my TM gears running a ~390 setup after about 20 shots. They will strip, not a matter of if, but when. And it will be soon after you put that spring in. They can't handle stiff springs.

Get SystemA gears, imo. They are good good quality. My favourite that I have worked with so far.

edit: well, look around at reviews of different gears and decide for yourself. My opinion is, Systema

You'll need a heavily reinforced gearbox, pick up the Torque Modify Smooth gearset... That kind of FPS will shred stock gears.

Get a longer inner barrel and a silencer to cover it up.

Do you think a sorbo pad would allow me to use my stock gearbox?

Wouldn't risk it. Reinforced shells aren't too expensive in the grand scheme either. Better safe than sorry. If the mechbox cracks, there's a good chance you might hurt something else as well.

Okay so how's this sound:

-Guarder Infinite torque motor
-Modify S120 spring
-Prometheus inner barrel
-Modify High Torque Gearset
-Guarder Reinforced gearbox shell

Guarder gearboxes are garbage. I've never had a good experience with one and they ALL required a fair amount of modification before I could get them to function properly. A part like that shouldn't require so much work. Try King Arms, Hurricane or G&P

I'd recommend against a King Arms mechbox.

I had a 7mm bearing one, and had to ENLARGE THE BEARING HOLES WITH A DREMEL to get them to fit in.

Not a good time. Especially since that should never happen.

That would be a good choice.

i would suggest that you run a 10.8 volt battery or lipo for that set-up, as this set up is the same as mine and a 10.8v is perfect, good rate of fire.

What M4 body are you running it in? My last build with a KA M4 body wouldn't work right until I swapped all the internals into a Systema mechbox shell.

I'm testing out PP Torque Up gears...they're running really well so far. Smooth and quiet. Triggermaster III mosfet, 11.1v battery, PP Hard piston, random ventilated piston head. Guarder Infinite motor.

Trigger response is very good (attribute to motor/battery).

Don't ruin your build by compromising on the mechbox shell...

Best of luck,

Tys
