TM MP5 - PDW restoration project

Hello all

I've been out of airsoft for three years or so, due to general life, school and cars taking priorities. I'm finally satisfied with my modded car - which has always been a slightly more legal obsession of mine, other than airsoft.

Recently I was dusting my highly modified SIG 552 and USP 45 and the BB bug has bit me again. So I'm back - sort of

Recently and finally, I picked up my dream compact gun - a TM MP5K. This one happened to be a PDW, which comes with a foldable stock. Also it happened to be in a shit shape. The gun is originally from Ontario. The rear sight is missing, the flash hider is missing. The battery is busted, the original shorty magazine is missing.

The gun came with a high cap mag | low-cap Mp5 mag | a Version 1 of the Aimpoint | a HK metal top rail.

So far what I have done is -
- disassembled all the external bits, rails, aimpoint etc and sterilized everything in rubbing alcohol.
- cleaned the barrel and some of the inards. mechbox was untouched.

The gun was super dirty, dusty, selector switch was written on with green ink, screws were loose.

The plans are:

- OEM 8.4v stick battery
- OEM shorty mag x 2
- OEM or SCAR flash hider
- OEM rear sights
- MP5K durability upgrade as per Redwolf spec:
Quote:
Durable Upgrade Option that extends the life of your AEG.(This upgrade can fit the original battery)
1. Systema Steel bushings
2. Systema Spur gear set Original ratio gears
- replace the fire selector with OEM
- laylax/gemtech supressor 146 mm

The gun will be used most for display and CQB ferry games. I want to keep it very unassuming and modest. Certanly no external batteries.

I welcome all commens and suggestions.

gun when i got it.

missing rear sights

missing flash hider

Where can I go for additional information on this subject?

Marui Parts Showcase is a great place to get hard-to-find OEM Marui parts. I've dealt with him a few times. Great seller.

doesn't look like you're missing the flash hider, it's got the three lug barrel. you're just missing a thread protector, if my mp5 is anything to go by.

The flash hider is a quick detach one, it's different than most ones.. my friend has a G&G MP5 and atleast it's the same looking as that one, and its QD. The thread protector you are missing, the flash hider clips on not screws.

I have a pdw that I just built to handle 11.1 v lipo. WORTH IT!

You might want to give that a shot.

That's the flash hider. You're still missing the little nub that screws onto the threaded part, the thread protector.

Yeah this is the reviews section. Not really the best for this topic

You should PM Tirador, his prices are alot better than marui parts showcase.

He can get pretty much anything you need for an insanely good price... I've dealt with him over 10 times now. Awesome guy.
