Not much you can do except check the timing of your mechbox. Preventing double feed is about the only thing that timing affects as it adjusts where the anti reversal latch catches the bevel gear relative to the tappet plate peg on the sector gear.
If your timing is wrong, you allow the sector gear to turn backwards far enough that the tappet plate pulls forwards and breeches a pellet before the motor powers up and pulls the tappet back again and loads a second pellet. If your mechbox is particularly badly timed, you can get a double feed nearly every time when shooting on semi. Using a bevel gear with more anti reversal lobes can also help. Other than that there's about nothing else that can be done to prevent double feed unless your nozzle is too short, but then you have a whole other host of problems like low muzzle velocity too.

Check your hop bucking for wear. Also make sure you have some hop dialled in.

I had the double feeding issue with my MP5. Turned out the nozzle was too short and the gear timing was all off. Got me a guarder nozzle and redid the MB, all is well now.

I have new gears on order, and the bevel gear has 4 teeth for the anti-reversal latch. We shall see how it works once everything is in.
