Gear , camo and other things.

Hi , first I would like to say thanks to the people who helped in my previous thread.

Now with the gun choosen I need to get equipped with gear ( Tactical vest and BDUs). I have read a lot of rules from airsoft even in my country part and a lot were saying that BDU were required that PMC we're not accepted. For my gear i wanted something like a tactival vest , pants with the same camo and a navy blue shirts but Im not sure if this would be accepted and I am not a big fan of full camo.

When it comes to choosing a camo what points are you people considering?

Thanks

M.D

Points to consider are;

1) What setup do you want to copy ? IE: US Rangers ? USMC ? Delta Force ? SWAT ? Ect ? If you don't have any setup in mind right now, disregard this point

2) Your personnal preferences. Don't choose camo just because 80% of the other players have it. Since we live in Canada, and that we have plenty of forest and landscape patterns, the choice is yours. Cadpat / Marpat / Woodland is the most common camo used and you'll never go wrong with that. Other players like me considered having the ARID version of the Marpat, since all of my gear and guns are FDE as well (Flat Dark Earth).

Most games and events will accept pretty much every camo pattern, depending on the scenarios and the team you are on.

There's a ton of Camo patterns to choose from. Pick-up the one you are most interrested, and once you played a couple of games and looking at other players setup, you might just want to start your own setup by copying real-life organisations like the Marines or the CF.

Edit; What part of Quebec are you from ?

I am from Québec city .

Yeah I am not a big fan of forest camo maybe the Flecktarn and Marpat could do it .

And btw when you play in the summer does the combat shirt (camo sleeve and unicolor chest) is okay or its too hot with the vest and the gear.

The combat shirt is actually cooler than a traditional issue top. The stretchy stuff in the middle is similar to the stuff Under Armor uses.

my goal is to have 2 sets of camo/colours. Generally games in my area are green vs tan base colours so having clothing that can fall into both categories lets me pick which ever team I want.

Pattern is entirely up to you though. I've been spotted from max range wearing acu in conditions that most benefited walking around like a newspaper... and other times I've not been spotted wearing a black t shirt and OD pants not 15 feet off a path.

Multi-cam is also the latest camo-fad.

Too many multicams. This can be cool because lot's of games can be reduced to 'team multicam' vs. everyone else, but feeling like a snowflake can be neat too.

I would recommend buying what you like purely based on what you think looks cool, and then buying a rig in a neutral colour like OD.
Then later on down the line, you may join a team that uses a specific camo, and you can just move all of your neutral gear over to that.

If you like Flecktarn, you should go for it.
Flecktarn has been extremely effective everywhere I've seen it used, spring, summer, or fall. Especially fall. (Prairies, Northern Ontario, Newfoundland)

yea lots and lots of Multicam now. If your going for a more original statement Multi-cam is not for you.

Another great camo is Surpat. Google some russian camo they also have good options.

Hell yeah!

If you catch Russkitis check out the Manitoba Ivan team website. http://forum.manitobaivan.ca/index.php?page=equipment

They give clear-cut examples of typical gear, and trusted links for where to find it.
It's relatively pretty tough, which is a bonus.

Camo is largely a personal preference if you're not playing on any particular team that requires it.

These are my personal favorites:

1) British Woodland DPM
2) CADPAT
3) US Tiger

I wear primarily 1 & 2, this allows me to play most skirmish games that are often broken up into "digital" and "non-digital". I'd say 80% of players these days are wearing multicam.

As for a vest, this is what I use:
Tactical Tailor 2-piece MAV with X-Harness

http://www.tacticaltailor.com/vests-...ular/x-harness

Bought it several years ago and never looked back.

Well I was thinking some of MARPAT or Arid CADPAT pants with a navy shirt + a MARPAT/ ARID CADPAT tac vest . Do you think it would be accepted ? I think this can be like SOF personnel.

It's "Accepted" if it falls under the camo requirements for the game.

Once again... maybe you should actually go to a game and see how things are done?

As a kind of last minute add-on, there is also Latvian Camo for Tan-based, and PRC's Type 07 camo. It's a new digital camo that the PLA just picked up, and there's Tan, Brown, Green, hell, even Blue variants of it.

Get it only if you're Asian, though, otherwise you look like a fool.

If I remember correctly, Delta Force can be plain clothes because they are required to be able to blend into normal society. That could both limit and expand the possibilities.
