CA33E Magazines
Just curious.
Does the CA33E (HK33) take regular G3 mags, or are specific mags required? Asking as I am investing in a CA33E and no one around me owns a CA33E or a G3 so I can't just ask them for a mag and try shoving it in. I think it's reasonable to not want to buy mags and end up having to buy more because they were the wrong ones, heh. If not, is there any adapter or magwell replacement that can accept these mags? That or perhaps a G3 body can be used to replace the CA33E body to change the magwell? Just spitting ideas out just in c case. Thanks for any input.

Use to own a CA33E

Figured. Was really hoping it wasn't due to a cartridge thing.
Since you owned one, could you possibly provide a link to where I could purchase mags, as they seem to be hiding. Also, could you answer a simple gearbox question: Is it a weird V2 or just the standard V2 gearbox? Thanks.

Yea, they have the 450rd mags. I'm a big stickler for 50-100rd mags, heh.

Since I've got more questions, mind as well keep it all in the same thread, heh.
Although the CA33E and G3 are similar, apparently the hop-ups are different? Just for verification purposes, the CA33E uses an M4 style hop-up and not a G3? Just curious since I have a G3 hop-up laying around and it'd be cool if I could make some use of it, heh.

The CA33E uses an M4 hopup, BUT because of the adjustment access, it is a unique hopup gear system. You can use an M4 hopup chamber, but you would have to swap out some of the parts for the CA33E parts.
As for magazines, CA makes 68, 130, 330, and 450 round magazines. All are available if the retailers stock them--but since the CA33 isn't a hot item, this is likely your problem with getting the magazines. They are more widely available in the US, but that is an issue too I bet! The 330 round magazine is the one that comes with the CA33E and CA33KA3. The 450 round comes with the CA53. |

Hypothetically, if I didn't care much about hop-up access, say I set it before hand or something, it would be entirely possible to put an M4 full hop-up unnit inside? Also if I'm clear, the only thing that needs replacing to keep the adjustment access, are the little gears on the side of the hop-up? I've never worked with an M4 hop-up before, sorry if this is a redundant style question, heh.

It's just a plain M4 hop up. I have no problems adjusting hop. There is no issue with access to adjust the hop up

I have a CA33 in my collection as well and have long been searching for extra mags at reasonable cost.
This is the best price I can find in North America, but they do not ship to Canada: http://www.precisionairsoft.com/Sear...x=0&Search.y=0 Just FYI. Let me know how you make out. If you want to order from overseas and split on shipping, PM me. I'll be converting my CA33 to 7.4v 2200mah lipo soon... will post up on how that goes. Last edited by horto; May 26th, 2010 at 11:24..
