This thread needs a bump and some new pics!!! I got a new slide and comp set in the mail from airsoftparts.ca today. I first saw this setup on the PROG4 website on their precision collection page. It was a custom piece at that point, and I just didn't have the money to get one for myself at the time. I went with a standard slide and no comp at the time, and it has served me well... but I was really feeling the need for a change. My Airsoft Surgeon slide and Shooters Design barrel weren't working that well together anymore, a new one piece barrel could have fixed my old slide I think, ... but I went for this instead. You can't beat $175cdn for the slide/comp/one piece barrel/guide rod. Still deciding on optics, Don't know if I want to do a slide mounted micro red dot or get one of Airsoft Surgeon's new mount bases that replace the slide stop. I'm also considering drilling holes in my frame getting a C-More replica... but it's the kind of irreversible change I'd like to avoid (I'd probably screw it up and end up getting a new frame, lol).

So anyway, here it is, still a WIP. Needs a few more bits and pieces, I want a new hammer/sear set, it has no rear sight now cause the slide is cut for a 4.3 sight and my base gun is a 5.1. I hate that gap I have in the slide though... i't just so bare and it sucks not being able to aim well right now lol. I am going to miss iron sights.

It went together very easy, no fitment issues at all. I didn't realize how big the difference in blowback would be going to a shorter slide. It's very crisp and a lot quicker now. Hopefully getting my optics around christmas once my mind is made up, and I'm going to try very hard to get up to Toronto and start doing CAPS, just need a holster and some more mags. A gun like this isn't going to sit on on the shelf collecting dust

Here it is, my first build TM Hicapa. Still WIP in this moment, i am planning to change the beaver tail safety, change the hammer to the flush model, and a new trigger.

Practice on a piece of ABS pipe, a cheap abs m4 grip...... anything.... practice your patterns, then when you're ready, and know what you want, do it on your gun... :P

PS: I would recommend to wear sealed goggles (with a fan), and a mask, because the fume that comes form the melting ABS hurts your eyes, and is toxic for your lungs.... OR work with a fan blowing the fumes away from you!

go to thesourceCC, homedepot, bestbuy.....

and look for a fat soldering iron tip.... (but first get a soldering iron that can have its tip swapped....)

If you cant find the fat tip, take a nail/screw, piece of scrap metal that could do the same thing....

Or you could always cut-off the pointy tip of the soldering iron and just use that....

Went down to hard research finding the closest shit to real SVI. From trigger to hammer.

All upgraded except for a stock hop up unit, frame screw(1), and leaf spring.

Thumb rest still needs to go on.

SVI IMM

it is simple, i just unscrew the screw holding the soldering tip and reverse the tip

Yep, that's what I did.
If you want the dimple golf ball effect, use a dremel and round off the tip.

Is there any pattern I should go with. I have made some on other scrap parts and turned out ok. but where do I start on the grip it self(top to bottom or bottom to top)I don't want to run it to a spot where I only get like a half dot or something of that nature.

Depends. If you are doing an even effect like mine that doesn't layer, then top or bottom is fine.
But if you do like a fish scale, dragon scale effect where it over laps, then it depends where it's top or bottom.

I usually do mine bottom, all the way around then fill it to the top.
