Reversed selector switch

Well I opened up my gearbox, did some maintenance on it, the gun is a G&G combat machine M16, I was actually quite surprised and pleased with the parts that were inside since combat machine grade is to be said the lower end of G&G.

So back on topic, Open her up, clean the crappy grease, relube the gears with white lithium grease, put some silione oil on the o-ring and it has a very good compression, re-shim the whole thing (it was 't a bad shim job from factory actually.) and close her up.

I then proceed to put the lower on her, grip and motor, only to realise that the selector switch is ''reversed''... In safe position it fires full auto, sami stayed the same, and auto funtion became the safe.. What could cause this? How can I fix this?

Thanks,

Jocelyn

Did you notice the position of the switch prior to opening it up?

You've done something wrong as its not possible to change how the gun shoots as the selector plate only works one way. Forward: safe, middle: semi, rear: f/a. I have a feeling you have reversed something.

Take a picture.

There is an offset round disc on the inside of the lower receiver that slides the selector plate on the Mechbox shell. Sounds like your disc on the selector lever is 180* out. Did you touch that part on the body (I mean take it off while working on it)?

The round disc in above link is what I am talking about. It is keyed though so it shouldn't go on backwards. I can't remember how it is in my g&g it might be more a shape that can be reversed accidently.

When I took out my gearbox, I put i on semi to facilitate the extrication. Put it back in the exact same way, and I dint play around the the selector switch/lever because there is no reason to. I'll look at it tonight.

EDIT: took some pictures, notice the slector switch is in the safe position. one pic if with my finger of the trigger, and the other one pressing down the trigger completly with the lever still in safe.

Well the little round plate you were talking about I just unscrwed it and moved it 180 degree, not it's working fine.

Plus I noticed a faster ROF with the great lube and shim job I did
