Silicone oil question

OK to start, I am new to airsoft and I am even newer to Propane GBBR's so I would like to know where is the best place to get silicone oil to put in my Mad Bull propane adaptor ? Is it something that can be bougth ''OFF'' the shelves at Canadian tire like regular silicone lube for treadmill belts or is it a different type exclusive to airsoft guns ?

My question might be '' DUMB'' but I wish NOT to mess with my $500 + Gas blowback M4.

you need 100% silicone oil. don't buy anything with petroleum in it. Such as the stuff crappy tire has. Some rc hobby stores carry them You can buy it from many online retailers.

10 or 15 wt. RC Shock oil.

I got the Team Associated stuff from a hobby store for like $5.00 + tax. It should last you a long time with your GBBR, I know you can't get through a bottle of that stuff with a GBB pistol.

There are a few places you can pick them up at. Usually $10. Lots of airsoft stores online carry them (mach1airsoft, heroarmysurplus), not really worth it unless you are ordering a few other things or are local to pick it up. Whatever you get just make sure it is 100% silicone.

RC 10wt shock oil for lubrification. About 5$ for 3oz. bottle

RC Trinity Royal Oil for propane adapter use (it is usually blueish but work incredibly good... it's made for RC car bearings/bushings). About 10$ for 1oz. bottle, with needle tip (usefull to refill with other stuff after... and it fits inside the feed tube of the propane adapter... no need to take it off to add oil)

Airsoft Innovations GBB Silicone Oil
For maintaining your gas powered guns and accessories.
  • NOT suitable lubricant for AI Tornado Grenades. Not at all. Not even a little bit.
  • Very low viscosity 1.5wt oil
  • 50ml capacity
  • Resealable nozzle (no messy screw top)
  • Enough to lubricate over 10 tanks of propane*
*2 drops per mag, once every 8 mag-fills is sufficient maintenance
Price: $6

1.5wt - probably the lowest weight stuff you can get out there. You can't even get it this light from RC stores.

Trinity Royal Oil is 0.5wt... one of the reason why I use it. (yeah, lighter than water)

lol holy crap! Is it also used for shock dampening applications in RC cars? I can't think off why such a light fluid would be needed for RC. Maybe liquid coolant? lol

Bearing lube. So thin it goes into the bearing with the seal still on tight...
It comes in a variety of unmanly colors (from pink to red and purple-ish-blue).

But it works just great for GBBs. Brings most seals back to life too.
