My KJW G23 Tactical Strike..
Well
I just got my first GBB and I since I'm the type of person who can't stand it stock...I did a couple of mods. The standard stuff like...krylon the cansoft lower, strip the outer barrel and finally modded a Glock 17 Tactical Block to fit on my G23. Next the slide...hmmm what to do next... Thanks for the comments...First off, sorry mods...I tried to post this under showcase..but I can view topics, but can't post if you can move this there that would be great..
The tactical block....i would assume its good for something ....probably something that would hurt if you were hit by it, I liked the look of it and it added some weight to the gun. The barrel was a little bit of a pain to strip. I usually take some sodium hydroxide (red devil pipe cleaner) or easy off to strip anno, but this stuff was like impossible to take off chemically. I used some sandpaper and emery paper for metal to take off the initial layer then used a dremel tool with a wire brush to get the sand paper marks off. Still a lot of work to do...going to do some interesting stuff with the slide... |

also, did you take it fully apart before painting? or did you just remove the slide and mask the rest

I took apart everything...slide, barrel assembly, and grip. It's not that hard, just make sure you go slowly and work in a place that is well lit and uncluttered. If you need help, lmk..there isn't too many videos or instructions for a full takedown of the KJ G23. From what I hear its a pretty old design. Anyways good luck

nice work stryfe i have the kj 32c, planning on modding it myself.
i plan to get the chrome kit with extend slide lock as well as extended slide release lever. Chome set for glocks also think i'm going to get the mag well since i find it a bit short. Mag Well and buy a trigger so i can get the real glock safety. Glcok trigger can you take a shot of yours with the slide open, wondering how the barrel looks in silver/aluminum. |

The "tactical block" is for extreme CQB when you want to use your pistol as an impact tool. The block allow to press the musle on something and still be able to fire. Without it, it would move the slide back, out of battery and prevent you from shooting. And if it did shoot, if the musle is completely sealed, well that's not very good for both of you. The block kinda prevent the musle from making a good seal if pressed on something.

I just got the same gun. Thinking what to do with it but all I can think is to paint the lower and then see if a friend can CNC engrave the slide with the right markings. Problem I have is I got these big ass hands so I'm gonna work on getting a Prohib Goods Permit if I'm able then I'll get a G17 for my standard Duty pistol.
