painting airsoft rifles
looking at my very well used ics and think its time for some paint. i want nothing fancy other than the stock paintjob it came with. problem is i have rare trademarks and i dont know how to go about painting anything airsoft. these are the trademarks i dont want destroyed.
  any suggestions? |

Are those trades engraved? if they are you could fill it with some sort of wax and pick it out after... Or you could use a liquid mask...
If not.. You could mask it and do your best to match the color... |

They look laser etched or something... not much you can do (that I know of) to save them if you paint it, short of getting them engraved first (how handy are you with a Dremel? :P )

I should also point out even though you're not looking to cam paint your rifle.. ghillie-style sleeve > camo paint job IMHO.

Do you shoot your gun or just look at it? Who cares what the trades say. Paint over 'em.
If you don't want to, then use a pin and some grease to fill 'em in, then wipe the grease off after the paintjob. |

^you can enjoy shooting your gun AND looking at it too :P
My friend has the same trades on his ICS and I don't think there's very much you can do except cover the trades and paint the rest. Maybe it's time to get that camo paint job you always wanted? |

You could go the brush method and sort of "drybrush" the worn areas... it'll neaten it up a little bit.

if the trades are that rare and your that concerned about em, i would seriously consider takeing them down to and engraver and have them do it profesionally, of course i would and youd need to dissassemble the rifle down to the reciever lol. i was going to do that with my usp before i sold it. i painted over my hurricane body and scuffed away the paint to expose the laser etch, it did the trick, but i actually scuffed some of the etch away in some spots, so i would just get it engraved and do yourself a favour and up the resale of your gun in that same step.
