They would have also worn a wool sweater, wool scarf and a wool Jeep hat (like the one radar wears on MASH). Eric is right... watch Band of Brothers... they didn't have much winter gear.

Eventually when they got their winter kit (after they really needed it) they had winter boots known as "shoepacks" IIRC.

Guten Tag!
Please excuse my bad english...I try harder ![]() During WWII, the Uniforms has changed. From Market Garden, during Winter to end of war they worne M43 Uniforms. Winter Kit List: -M43 Paratrooper Uniform -Double Buckle Boots -helmet without paratrooper liner -scarf -wool sweater -overcoat or mackinaw jacket -any kind of had wear Sometimes they worne under theit uniform HBT Uniforms. All in all we have to point, that US Front was not well equipped, so they worne, whatever they found.
