Do silencers work for GBB guns? or are they just visual accessories?

they are somewhat effective. On an NBB like the TM MK23 though they are fantastic. I would venture a guess that almost all the noise a GBB makes is the slide hitting. Thats why i assume on the real MK23 a slide lock can be engadged so it can lower its noise generation.

Silencers muffle some of the sound from the muzzle only, you will still hear everything else, also gives your gun sexy appeal.

Like was said before, it works for the TM Mk23 NBB, but only because it's a NBB. It makes it damn near silent.

Thanks for the information, so it is basically just a visual accessory, except for a few guns like the Mk23?

specifically the TM Mk23 cause on that gun, the slide doesn't move at all. on the KSC MK23, it does dampen the sound, but if you want dead silence, just cock the hammer back and let off a BB without having the slide cycle.

A guy on my team modified the silencer that came with the TM mk23 and now it's even better. I can only hear the hammer falling when I shoot. I think he changed the foam in it

Why is the Mk23 non-blowback?

It was designed to be non-blow back

That's just the way it was designed by TM. Maybe so that it WOULD be silent?

Details please? I've seen some online examples of baffles which are supposed to work better than just open cell foam, but never any in person (or recorded sound comparisons, not that those are much use most of the time).
