I've been searching around for an ICS M4 Hopup to complete a repair that's on the bench...but without much luck.

So...can anyone add information to replacing the stock hopup unit (which in this specific case is broken) with a solid one piece metal hopup (front altered as per described by this article and
THIS ONE (it has pics for those who are more visual oriented).
Specifically, I'm researching if there are any lingering issues with feeding, air seal, etc... post hopup-swap.
I might sacrifice a spare hopup unit just for interest sake...unless I find a stock ICS one asap.
