That's false. I'm sorry you are so obstinate. First of all, conscription of the Latvian Legion began in early 1943, not 1944, and immediately after the German invasion of Latvia in 1941, conscription was begun covertly and those conscripted forced to sign documents saying they had "volunteered."
I have several aquaintances who fought in Russia, Latvia, and Germany with Army Group North, the 15th and 19th Divisions of the Waffen SS, as well as family members who fought.
