Yes. You CAN in fact stuff a VSR-10 barrel into a hicapa or any new TM pistol for that matter if you so choose. 5.1 is pretty much the easiest to do, with the readily available Nine-Ball SAS kit and any 14+ suppressor. Accuracy and range takes a pretty damn good boost, and it's almost a scrim-able weapon with enough tweaking.
Only things you have to do are: A: Mesh the hopup unit and the barrel. Unfortunately, although extremely close, the stock barrel between the VSR-10 G-Spec differs slightly compared to the Hicapa, and a bit of dremmeling is required to mesh the two items. B: A method has to be found to cover up the barrel. Easy solution was the SAS kit, but it looks a bit fugly and spacegunny. Hard solution is an actual threaded barrel and suppressor. And C: The hard part is now drawing it from a holster. Existing holsters are pretty damn hard to find, but I found UTG's universal OD leg holster to be more than adequate, and I can easilly draw it mounted on a duty belt, without interference by the sights.
I wish my digicam was working then I could show you how ridiculous it is (enough so that mounting a vert grip on the SAS kit feels NORMAL), I might have a teammate with pics of it though.
