The foam inside helps the BBs flow through so it doesn't get stuck in the silencer.
Negatory. The foam adsorbs noise. The bb is flying straight and unless something is miss aligned it's flight path goes right in the middle of the foam silencers "tunnel". The foam does not help the bb "flow through".
