$600 is just a starting fee, something that a seriouse paintballer will dump just for ammo. So in the long run Airsoft is not that bad.
What your describing isn't airsoft, its softair (under-performing guns prone to mechanical failure, using sub-standard .12g bbs which have sub-standard range and power, perfect for basement plinking and thats all unless you try to upgrade it.)
Actually I mean actually looking to the fourms, our sports is not barely exiting, is just under the radar too keep compliation from arrising from soccer moms, anti-firearm (anti-anything that looks like a gun) activitist from over reacting, its like of a grey are a in the law. Just because its not telvised, sponsered, over populated by minors doesn't mean its near non-existant.
Back to topic, if Crossman really made it then I'd expect to fail/brake in very shot order due to complex internals. Thats IF they actually made it at all.
