it could actually be possible... by using a heavier spring that not only pushes the piston, but also pushes a lever that re-cocks the gun. I too was thinking about this. But then I realized, that to cock the weapon the first time would require 5 joules of energy to fire five shots at 1 joule, PLUS the energy required to cock the weapon... Which requires a minimum of 5 joules for the five shots, plus the amount to cock the weapon.

It's an impossible equation unless you implement a VERY complex switching setup so the weapon knows when you cock it versus when it's being shot and reacting from it's own blowback.

Do you know how hard it would be to pull back a 5 joule topslide?
