I got to look at some pretty reasonable guns which are upcoming releases from Cybergun (european airsoft distributer). I'm not sure what brand name they'll be marketed under though. I met their R&D guy who is working with the manfacturer to produce economical yet well performing AEGs. They're launching some decent Armalites, AKs and a not bad Thompson which seem to shoot pretty well with decent power. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to dig into the mechbox, but from a superficial first look at early release products, they seem pretty good.
The target MSRP for the US and European market is $200USD including battery, charger and hicap which is quite a steal if they are mechanically sound for the long term. Out of the box they chrony 320fps w' 0.2g bbs so they're not the usual 100fps junk guns we're used to bitching about. Their finish is certainly not as nice as the impecable TM finish. Mould parting lines aren't quite as clean, but overall they're quite good for the price.
