M4A1 might be Academy's newer model gun, but if you have seen the performance/quality on their L85, that should give you a good implication of what kind of quality guns they make. (Feeding problem, weak performance, basically a gun that's fairly useless in skirmishes until you upgrade it) There aren't any reviews on the M4A1 that I've found, so my judgement will obviously based on their past track records.
I answered one of his questions whether it's on par with TM and CA, simply no, and that question didn't ask why.
I'm not a TM fanboy by far, but I don't hesitate recommending new airsofters to go with the more established brands.
Either way, my one word answer gave him the answer he was looking for more than your long post, doesn't it?
