I would recomend you play a few games with a stock gun and get used to it. It takes some discipline and trust on the part of your fellow players to have some new guy walk in with a gun thats upgraded to the tits shooting 400+.... I know guys who play with stock guns and get more kills on average than the upgraded stuff. Come out, learn, play. See if one of the local clubs is running a "bootcamp" best place to learn.
