Hop ups are pretty much go/no go things. You may have to take the gun apart again, but not all the way. Before I reinstall a barrel/hop up assembly, I adjust the hop and look through the hop up to make sure that the nub is actually doing it's thing through the hop window in the barrel.
It could be that when you put it back together the nub fell out of place and now when the arm goes down it isn't doing anything. Unfortunately it sounds like you'll be tearing it down again. Did you do the mod yourself, or was it done by someone else?
