actually last time I received a shipment from china via dhl I was very pleased with their level of service. I was called on the day it was supposed to be delivered and given an option to prepay the customs fees and authorize a drop off at my door, instead of having to deal with going to their depot to pay and sign. Their customs brokerage were slightly more than canada post, but still much less than ups, and the up front notification there were fees was honest unlike fedex, who has fair fees but they tell you there are no fees then invoice you 3 months later.
canpar and purolator have given me decent service as well for reasonable pricing.
fedex wanted 130$ to ship a small box worth 60$ ottawa to Connecticut, so fuck them.
fedex ground has more favorable rates.
ups is ups. Fuck them.

I futz with V2s, V3s and V6s. I could be wrong... but probably, most likely not, as far as I know.
