Looks is always something you can change in the long run. With an M4 anything is possible pretty much.
Go with a reputable brand. I'm always hearing good things about VFC from the gun docs around here and locally as well.... [just one gun doc I know locally lol]
I have experiences with a number of brands that I own King Arms, VFC, A&K G&P, ICS, KWA
I'll tell you they will all have some sort of issues.. The biggest difference between all of them is being able to fix them without any huge problems. The more reputable brands seem to be the ones that are known to be able to be diagnose and fix a lot easier.
If you are a newb and are looking for a first gun just get one that has a good reputation.... will save you a lot of headaches and money down the road.
