If you want to build a high-end gun, I suggest you start from scratch, and not from a WE pistol that is currently broken.
Then again, there is really no reason to build a "high end" pistol. 99% of the "upgrades" do nothing and the rest are purely for looks.
So what you CAN/Should do, if fix it, then start looking for a slide/barrel you like.
