My advice would be find a friend who knows gearboxes and have them swap it for you, or find another gun doc. $70 is expensive as fuck and spring changes are basic and only take 10 minutes, less if you are proficient.
If you are buying an indoor gun in a few months I would wait if your only option is $70 to change the spring. Otherwise, spring changes are quick and easy if you or a friend knows what they are doing. Your choice really. Just depends how much money you want to spend.
Edit: I should note that the 10 minutes or less is from the point you have the gearbox out of the gun. SCARs are more complicated than ARs to strip down. Either way, not difficult, just tedious.
