PDI barrels are indeed good and definitely on-par wit Prometheus.
What you read is indeed correct - the PDI windows aren't ideal for R-hopping. The aggressive trailing edge cut they do makes an R-hop install difficult but could theoretically mean you're 50% of the way to an ER-hop. LOL.
