Well, the pros of a larger optic is obviously larger FoV. On a Mil-spec optic, this is great because there is no parallaxing. However; on an airsoft knock-off optic, there will be parallaxing. So, the closer the dot is to the outside of the FoV, usually the greater chance it is no longer on target.

Having said that, I found that having a huge FoV wasn't that much of an advantage with RDS because you're shooting with two eyes open anyways (or you should be, at least).

My personal preference is the T1 aimpoint style of RDS. It's compact, effective, and can be put on a riser if your face is really fat, or you have a Quasimodo-eye or something.
