Another is the faster the rate of fire, the faster the aging process. And do NOT dry fire it, at least as little as possible. A teammate loves to dry fire his 9.6V AEGs and I've replaced the mechboxes a few times, as well as other parts (including the G&P SPR's tappet plate, TM SR-16 gears etc.)
