I drilled out the barrel to 6.3mm, 2mm past the last slit and then polished it all. I shot about 3 mags through it today, and I'm more than happy with the accuracy. It's a lot more consistant in it's shots now.
As for cycling issues, it was something I was worried about when I started, although I haven't had an issue with it yet. My guess is because it mounts onto the actual barrel rather than the outer barrel, giving it that little bit of extra support. Only time will tell.
