M16/SPR Sniper Modstock

Well, I've been bashing away trying to get this gun finished for about a month now. Most of the time is spent waiting for parts to arrive from what seems a hundread different places... which is probly true. After all, it was built purely from parts I've aquired thru the B&S and overseas orders. Not one single part has come out of my parts bin!

Anyways... the long wait between sourcing parts and actually having them show up at my door has provided me with long streches of it sitting around. So, out of sheer boardom... and the inability to locate a 'cool' cheek rest for an AR/M16 online. I decided to build one.

1. After looking around at sniper stocks I decided on a shape, marked it off and started cutting with a razor saw.

2. Put the stock back on the gun to get an idea if I'm happy with it... heh, too late now anyways!

3. Cut, bent and fitted a filler panel made of sheet styrene. Painted it black, and made sure everything fit. The round doodad on the right is an old A2 sight adjustment knob... more on that later.

4. Crazy glued it all together after adjusting the cheekrest to the proper hight. I cut the A2 sight adjustment knob in half with a Dremel tool and added it in for looks. I was going to make it actually adjust, but would loose too much space inside the stock for batteries... so it's purely cosmetic. TA DA!
1 1/2 hours total time. Cost... a big fat ZERO $$.

Enjoy.
