My team has 6 G&P LiPos and they've been great all year long through many games and lots of abuse. I have 2 G&P NiMH batteries (1600mAh, 9.6V) and they've also been fine, however one is a replacement for one that went
very very bad and nuked a G&G motor of mine. Thing is, the reason it went bad was that the charger I was using was measured pushing out 4A (the guys at Toronto Airsoft measured it for me) when the charger (Tenergy) was switched to 1A. D'oh!
My personal rules going forward:
1) Only use LiPos,
2) Only use nice balance chargers,
3) Use the heck out of those little battery voltage monitors that hobby king sells for like 4 bucks or whatever,
4) Stop buying batteries in Canada that have been marked up 8 to 10 times their original price, buy high quality RC packs from hobby king for 5 bucks a piece, en masse, thereby avoiding tears when a battery goes bad.
