So your techinque for that effect is sponging? How do you do that exactly; spray a sponge with paint then apply by dabbing the sponge to the area?

I usually have done what you did with the ninth coat with a stencil or a fist-full of sticks to diffuse the paint on the hard lines - got to try a sponge next time.
What I did for the sponging is spray the paint into a margarine lid so I had a puddle of the paint, then dipped the sponge in it. Rubber gloves are a definate plus for keeping the hands clean.
