Hello all
I've been doing airsoft for about one and a half or two years now, I own a Well L96 sniper rifle as well as a G&G M16. The G&G is fantastic, works wonderfully and short of maybe wanting it to have a bit more distance, I'm fine with it the way it is at the moment.
Right now I want to upgrade my L96 sniper rifle. I've been digging around and doing some research, and people have said that the stock hop up is terrible, causes BB's to go astray frequently after 40-60 yards. Also the internal barrel could use an upgrade. There has also been comments as to the trigger box quite often shattering after a more powerful spring is put in.
What I want to do with my gun, is increase accuracy, maybe in the future distance as well. To do this I've narrowed it down to upgrading both the internal barrel and hop up unit with PDI parts. I've successfully stripped down and rebuilt the gun on my own and it still works the way it did, so I'm confident I can manage the upgrades.
I've found these parts:
Hop-up
Internal Barrel
I measured my barrel from tip to tip and it is ~500mm give or take a mm or two. I'm fairly certain the internal barrel will work with my gun, but I'm not sure about the hop up unit, it looks quite different from the one inside my gun at the moment. Anyone help me out? Am I on the right track?
Also, if someone could, what sort of maintenance should I be doing on a regular basis to my guns? Before and after every game I run a cleaning rod down the barrels, but past that I haven't done much anything. And I'm sure with disassembling and reassembling my L96 with new parts I will need to do some kind of oiling and greasing to the internals?
Thanks ahead for any responses!
