As Mattmayham said avoid knee pads, and ALICE.

In terms of Greenside, the camo depends on the AO, the gloves are operator choice (I use mechanix M Pact, with the thumb and index finger cut off at knuckle )

For gear look at LBT 1961G, TAG Intrepid, EI Multi Purpose Chest Rig, or if its really long range, the HSGI Denali (not used so much anymore), EI RRV . That'll cover your rigs and ammo carrying. Remember though a pistol is optional and generally is not carried on Greenside since your main focus is INTEL, not shooting.

For packs look into EI A-III-MS, Kealty 3500 MAP, Mystery Ranch SATL, Kifaru type packs. Mystery Ranch and Kifaru packs are gaining popularity but they aren't cheap!

For head gear you'll see boonies, boonies with jute / burlap / netting, patrol caps, shemaghs, sniper veils or similar. Face paint isn't used much by SEALs anymore, though MFR still rock it.

Onto weapons you'll see M4 SOPMOD, though in cold weather or mountains you generally see no optics or attachments. For GREENSIDE anywhere else you will probably see mixes of Aimpoint, or Spectre Dr sights (ACOG if your doing Block I SOPMOD and earlier). PEQs are up in the air, and are probably stored with gear till needed.

Basically for GREENSIDE, think light weight, very low profile, and nothing that rattles, or jingles. For boots it could come down to Merrel Sawtooth, ASOLO (forgot the model ) or merrel MOAB styles are pretty popular, but again depends on the AO.
