"Open bolt" doesn't mean the same thing in airsoft as it does in real steel. For airsoft, "open bolt" is more of an "open chamber" system as opposed to the "closed chamber" of WE V1,2, and 3 (i.e. brass tube) which WE refers to as closed bolt/AWSS. I believe WE's V4 is intended to be their version of the "open chamber" system which they refer as "open bolt".
