I'd say find a few of the verifiers, chat with them here then plan a trip to either Kelowna or Calgary to meet up. Kelowna is closer but there aren't that many games going on right now. Calgary you should be able to find something going on over the winter and see the gear first hand. Other potential spots could be Kamloops or Penticton.
Other random thoughts, best mask now seems to the be Russian mesh ones, there's a spot in Calgary that sells those too but I don't know if he has a storefront or if it's all online.
